I’m home again!! Well our home until closing! hehehe I borrowed Leann and Analisa (good friends) to take a road trip with Amber and I to the Southern Missouri, Northern Arkansas area. When we left, we had a list of properties to look at. We left Monday morning early, driving thru the night to arrive in Bentonville, AR Tuesday evening.
Driving straight through requires a lot of butt brakes, so we tried to stop for fuel in interesting spots. Some places of interest I intend to visit again; Moab, for the striking rock/mountain formations. McLean, Oklahoma, for the welcoming people who treated us as new neighbors not tourists.
And I would love to visit Shawnee, Oklahoma and find out why they named a street Kickapoo St. ??? I love it!
We stayed 1 night in Bentonville, AR looking at properties in the Eureka Springs/Berryville area before heading to Missouri.
Anderson, Missouri at the Econo Lodge is were we stayed the next 2 nights looking at properties. We missed some of the bare land properties on the list. We got a flat tire! Putting the car jack together is about as far as we got before help took over. A very nice local man put the donut on for us then sent us to a very nice local tire shop. Analisa payed 12 dollars (card reader was down) for the tire to be fixed! WOW!!
Most of the properties we were looking at I took video to share with Travis or if lucky we facetimed. Travis and I decided to offer on a place in Cassville, Mo. Us girls went down the road to the Roaring River State Park while Travis and I were writing the offer. Unfortunately it did not work out. The seller would not drop price and the place would not go conventional, so we are still looking!
Friday morning we left for home, taking a new route home via a visit to Travis’ brother’s house in Kansas City, Kansas. Leaving KC we took the 70 west, not knowing its a toll road! Paid a whopping 3.50 when we got off the toll part in Topeka, KS. In Russel, KS we needed a break, so we got a room and watched the storm that rolled in.
We stayed on the 70 until Burlington, CO then headed north to 80. We wanted to hit the Lincoln summit memorial outside of Laramie, WY.
In all the gas stops so far the most we have payed was 2.89 a gallon, well that changed when we hit Little America, WY. All of a sudden gas prices were over 3.00 again starting with 3.70 in Little America. Leann and I (girls too) were so ready to be home that we bust thru and didn’t stop until Boise, ID!!! We pulled in at 3:30 Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Time to Sleep!!!
